History of Kabaddi
Kabaddi first to be found in Tamil region which is in India. Also in Southern Part of India. Then it is spread to South East India. Kabaddi word derived from the word "kai -pidi ", it's meaning is "to hold hands". The first Kabaddi was seen by the world at 1936 Berlin Olympics , demonstrated by India. Kabaddi introduced in the Indian National Games at Calcutta in 1938. All India Kabaddi Federation( AIFK) came into existence in 1950 and make some official rules for the game. Even the modern rule also managed by this authority. Kabaddi introduced and popularised in Japan by Sundar Ram in 1979. On behalf of Asian Amateur Kabaddi Federation Sundar Ram introduce Kabaddi there when he was on tour for 2 months. Matches between Bangladesh And India were held across India in 1979. After Beating Bangladesh in final India emerged as champion in the first Asian Kabaddi Championship which was held in 1980. Other countries who had participated in the tournament were Nepal, Malaysia, and Japan. In 1990 at Beijing in the Asian Games Kabaddi included for the first time, where seven teams took part. Now it is played nationally and internationally around the world.
